The day of full moon, Purnima, in the Hindu month of Ashad (which usually falls in July or August) is known as Guru Purnima. This day is of deep significance in the guru-shishya paramparaa (tradition) so that all shishyas (disciples) may pay homage to their guru. It is also important to remember all gurus or teachers on this day, from the teachers in primary school to all our spiritual teachers.
For many years, people from all over the world would gather to join Morari Bapu in Chitrakut Dham, Talgajarda as he celebrated Guru Purnima by paying homage to his guru. Since 1999, however, Morari Bapu requested people not to come especially for Guru Purnima and instead pay homage to their respective gurus from home.
